Children & Family Minister- Community Presbyterian Church in Celebration (CPC)

Our Children & Family Ministry (CFM) welcomes kids to experience fun, impactful programs with the intention they will grow in their walk with the Lord and develop a lasting relationship with Jesus. Our CFM programs are available for children, nursery to fifth grade, and is a place where they can experience the hope that God brings to all from birth to graduation.

As one of CPC’s largest ministries, our CFM director is entrusted with creating an engaging and interactive space for kids to learn sound Biblical foundations in a contemporary environment.

Modeling the traits of an energetic, engaging, spiritual leader with the managerial skills of an experienced leader, the Children & Family Minister is responsible for providing effective leadership and direct oversight of the CFM’s team and volunteers at CPC. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create a culture that nurtures and supports the spiritual development of our families, as well as the skills to develop and direct programming in alignment with the mission and the vision set forth by the church leadership.

The Children & Family Ministry (CFM) Include:

Essential Job Functions
•Recruit, lead, supervise, motivate, train, develop, and provide clear direction to CFM team and volunteers.

•Provide vision for CFM in alignment with the vision of CPC.

•Continually create and cultivate innovative ways to enhance the family experience at CPC, inclusive of a fun and safe environment that is nurturing and spiritually developing.

•Incorporate an innovative culture throughout all CFM programs and events.

•Ensure relevant and appropriate use of music, arts, crafts, games, and social media content on our targeted platforms as a way of teaching Bible stories and Christian Values.

•Oversee all CFM programs inclusive of Sunday children’s church programs, classes, after school programs, summer programs and special events.

•Oversee the successful recruiting and onboarding of new volunteers.

•Ensure clear, timely communications with parents.

•Oversee the effective execution of all CFM special events.

•Ensure child safety training standards are met by all CFM team and volunteers.

•Ensure the implementation of appropriate sanitation and safety protocols within CFM environments.

•Manage the planning of the Children & Family Ministry budget.

• Participate in weekly staff meetings.

• Demonstrate an encouraging and positive attitude towards coworkers and the workers of CPC.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• A minimum of 4 years of management experience is required.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a pastoral or ministry leadership role is required.

• Experience in early childhood education, child development, and/or childcare is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Skilled in effective leadership, administration, encouragement, and development.

• Highly skilled in vision casting, planning and appropriate delegation.

• Excellent listening and communication skills.

• Knowledge of effective budget management.

• Effectively work as a vital team member alongside other staff in shared ministry tasks and events

• Excellent people skills and problem resolution skills.

• Knowledge of navigating Microsoft Office and video conferencing.

• Familiarity with Planning Center or similar platform is a plus. Personal Characteristics & Qualifications
