“And he went outside and wept bitterly” (Luke 22:62).

These words indicate the turning point in the life of Peter, a crisis. This is the crisis and turning point where Peter begins to cross over from a carnal life where Peter was self-willed, self-pleasing and self-confident. Peter loved Jesus but he trusted himself. Then, note the change that took place in Peter. The Lord Jesus led him up to Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came from Heaven upon him and the old Peter was gone and he was a new Peter. Peter, who to save himself suffering and shame, had denied Christ, becomes so changed that he became bold to confess his Lord at any cost, even prison and death. The Holy Spirit changed Peter. When Peter went out and wept bitterly, the Lord led him to come to the end of himself and to see what was in his heart. God has prepared a beautiful and blessed life for every one of us and God as a Father is waiting for you to come to Him and let Him fill you with the Holy Spirit so that you may live every hour in unbroken fellowship with God. You have been bought with the Blood and washed with the Blood. Live in the resurrection power of Jesus. The same God who pardoned and regenerated us is waiting to perfect His love in us, if we but trust Him.
