“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father (John 14:12).”

“You shall receive power” (Acts 1:8). “But covet earnestly the best gifts” (1 Corinthians 12:31). Anything that God has ever done for a soul He will do for anyone else, if the conditions are met… unbelief says: Some other time, but not now; some other place, but not here; some other people, but not us. Faith says, Anything He did anywhere else he will do here; anything He ever did for other people He is willing to do for us. With our feet on the ground, and our head cool, but our hearts ablaze with the love of God, we walk out in this fullness of the Spirit, if we will yield and obey. God wants to work though you! The Counselor has come, and he doesn’t care about the limits of locality, geography, time or nationality. The Body of Christ is bigger than all of these. It was not an easy task which the church faced when she came down from that upper room. Left to herself the church would have perished as a thousand sects had done before her and have left nothing for a future generation to remember. That the church did not so perish was up entirely to the miraculous element within her. The element was supplied by the Holy Spirit who came at Pentecost to empower her for her task. For the church was not an organization merely, not a movement, but a walking incarnation of spiritual energy. And she accomplished within a few brief years such moral conquest as to leave us wholly without explanation—apart from God. The question is: Will you open your heart to the Spirit?
